COBRA KILLER

COBRA KILLER
Cobra Killer is Gina from EC8OR and Annika from Shizuo's band GIVE UP. They have no money, but they do have a large collection of sixties records and a pocket size sampler. And a vigorous imagination. Tunes you know you know pop up one after another but you just can't place them. Snippets looped and distorted, jostling together into a sublime concoction of aural cookies. In the Cobra Killer universe Barbie has sex, everyone has their own helicopter, orange juice comes in the colour of your choice and flares never went out of fashion.

KID SPATULA

KID SPATULA
Mike Paradinas has recorded under many names including Mu-Ziq, Kid Spatula, Jake Slazenger and Gary Moscheles, and currently Worcester-based producer Paradinas, who has been given props by everyone from Bjork to Lou Reed, is using the Kid nom de tune for his more extreme experiments. Mike is close to completing his new Mu-Ziq album for Virgin, something approaching his tenth artist album so far.

HELLFISH & PRODUCER

HELLFISH & PRODUCER
Former champion turntablist Hellfish and hardcore DJ Producer have released scores of 12"s on their Deathchant label, their mash up of 200-plus BPM gabba, old skool hip-hop and breakbeat hardcore finding acclaim both from devoted hardcore fans and anyone generally sick of the current rampant blandness in pop today. The pair released a mix CD 'Constant Mutation' through Mike Paradinas' Planet Mu imprint last year, and of course gave 'No More Rock And Roll' its title with the track of the same name.

PANIC STEPPER

PANIC STEPPER

With a grounding in jazz & the avant-garde, Panicstepper has turned his attention to creating a hybrid of experimental music, improvisation & depraved and abrasive beats. A collision of disparate influences from the New York downtown scene ( Zorn, DNA. ), Hip Hop, Digital Hardcore, Motown, Parliament / Funkadelic to the Japanese Now Wave movement (Boredoms, Melt Banana, Merzbow.) push the boundaries of music & the cross-pollination of sounds. His first EP for Trash Records - entitled "$40 And I Could Be A Woman"made a huge impression on Flo Records, who just couldn't say no to releasing a full length album, "Hyperurban Hardcore Erotics". Panicstepper's process of hybridisation continues with the 'Agro Jazz' album, a cerebral concoction of free-form ProTools improvisation featuring impro-jazz maestros Steve Beresford and the legendary Derek Bailey.

MEDUSA
MEDUSA

Medusa has several 12" releases to his credit and an eponymously titled album recently released on Nation Records furthest outpost Flo, who describe him as follows:The bastard spawn of an unholy union between The Prodigy, Puff Daddy and Roni Size. A contorted, hysterical, perverse aberration of cerebral ecstasy and physically abusive vibrations. An uncompromising mind-and-body fuck. Created with the precision of a neural surgeon's scalpel and delivered with the relish of a butchers fervour, Medusa displays an irrepressible delectation for carpet-bombing switchblade percussion stabs with incendiary basslines, pushing sound to the very bowels of consonance - female hip-hop vocals struggle to breathe in a climactic grind of gut-churning technoid gloop. Medusa has several 12" releases to his credit and an eponymously titled album recently released on Nation Records furthest outpost Flo.

DJ SCUD / APAHSIC

DJ SCUD / APAHSICDJ SCUD / APAHSIC
DJ Scud A.K.A Toby Reynolds and Jason Skeet - Aphasic have numerous releases to their credit on their own Ambush label. Based in South London, they have continually put out music which challenges convention, incorporating the influences of free improvisation and musique concrete, within the soundsystem culture of drum & bass, hardcore techno, hip-hop and dancehall reggae. In addition to Scud & Aphasic tracks, Ambush have released material by Shizuo - also on DHR, Din-S.T and Christopher Fringeli, mainly on 12" single. A related label Full Watts puts out excellent mutated dancehall reggae, available on 7" single only, such as the DJ Scud produced 'Kill Or Be Killed' by Blood Klaat Gangster Youth. A collection of Ambush "Drum N Noise" tracks can be found on the 'Mash The Place Up' compilation album.

2ND GEN
2ND GEN

2nd Gen is Wajid Yaseen, former bass player with Nation Records act Fundamental, and now a Mute Records artist, with a full length album, 'Irony Is' released to widespread critical acclaim. 2nd Gen have previously recorded a series of uncompromising 12" E.Ps both on Flo Records and Novamute, combining propulsive hip hop beats with blasts of explosive noise and electronic experimentation. 2nd Gen live, are a devastating, yet exhilarating sonic experience, not to be missed.

THE FIGHTING COCKS

THE FIGHTING COCKS
Combining the talents of punk rock guitar mangler Matyi, scratcher DJ Assassin and rappers Nomi and Susanna. With several releases on their own FGZ Records and numerous live appearances they are building an appreciative following for their irreverent blend of mashed up beats, guitar noise and even Hungarian folk! A healthy disrespect for the music industry shows through in their on-stage attitude and production tools of choice: Amiga, mixer, turntables.

TRIP THE SYSTEM
TRIP THE SYSTEMTRIP THE SYSTEMTRIP THE SYSTEM

TTS have existed for some time purely as a chaotic live experiment, slotted into a variety of club nights - the premise being that 'things will break down', CDs will glitch and jump, decks will feedback, and if something can be distorted it should be. In addition to DJ appearances at Make Some Noise events, TTS have released limited edition CD compilations and collaborated with avant garde spoken word performer DJ Maya, the results of which will hopefully be released at some point in the future.

KID 606

KID 606
The Kid is San Franciscan power book manipulator Miguel Manel. He has released numerous singles and albums, for labels such as Mille Plateux, Fatcat Records, and his infamous 'remix' of NWA for maverick UK noise label V/VM. In addition to these he has his own label, Tigerbeat 6 and regularly plays out live with his laptop & Reaktor software, a master of the sonic glitch & massively distorted beat.
